Photography Business Tools I Love | Second Heart Photography

There are so many photography resources, educators, and services out there, I know it can be overwhelming. When I first started my photography business, I remember the decision paralysis I felt about locking in any services or providers, let alone what camera or lenses to buy. Like many, I asked photographers around me what they used, and in the past couple years, I’ve had other photographers and acquaintances ask me my opinions and experiences and what I currently use. This post will discuss my favorite photography business tools and software that I currently use for my business. Check future posts for my favorite camera, lenses, and educators!

As a disclaimer, this post contains referral and affiliate links. By clicking these links, I may receive a benefit or reward. These are all legitimate services, software, and equipment that I use and stand by, but I cannot guarantee that they are best for you. Please do your own research.

Photography Business Tools

Session – Full Session + Mini Session Booking

Session (sometimes called Use Session, because of their website) is a booking software. They have an amazing mobile app, a clean interface, and a simple to use website. I have tried other software such as HoneyBook and Dubsado, and while they are great also, they are not quite for me. Session also has absolutely excellent customer service and a devoted team that takes customer requests seriously and continues to implement feedback. You can try it free for 14 days with the link above, or here: try Session!

Pic-Time – Gallery Hosting

Pic-Time is a photo gallery delivery software. All of my galleries are delivered with Pic-Time, which has a beautiful gallery setup, a robust store experience, and excellent customer service when I have issues on the back end. Their automation apps to run sales and create offers is amazing, plus their plans offer unlimited storage, which is great since I keep galleries up for a very, very long time. You can sign up for Pic-Time and use my code SZKRET and we both get a free month!

Lightroom – Photo Editing

If you are a photographer or are at all interested in photography, I’m sure you’re already using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. I personally use Lightroom Classic instead of Lightroom CC, though I do have Lr Mobile on my phone and use it to edit phone photos here and there. There are several options available, but I have the 20GB Creative Cloud Photography Plan available here.

ShowIt – Website Hosting and Design

ShowIt is a webhost and website designer. While many people like Wix and SquareSpace, ShowIt was designed with photographers and creators in mind. ShowIt provides access to beautiful templates, easy access to SEO features, and so much customization. It can have a learning curve and take some time to get used to, but it is so worth it. You can try it for free for 30 days, and we’ll both get a free month if you sign up with this link: try ShowIt!

These are just some of the things I use to keep my business successful. There are so many photography business tools available out there; don’t get overwhelmed! Take your time to use the free trials available and you will be able to find what works best for you and the type of photography you do.
